Repetto shoes asked a handful of New York artists
to reinterpret their "zizi" shoe for a travelling exposition
that would accompany their new line of flats this Fall.
Matt Creed and I collaborated on this project.
Our "Zizi's"are a physical narrative of the Jazz musicians
who flourished in the roaring twenties, only to loose
everything in the great depression.
Using mixed media we made our Zizi’s appear old and stained,
we frayed the topline , deteriorated the toe cap so flesh
colored toes, which we made from clay,
could spill out from the dirtied leather.
